1) Xbox 360 Gears Of War, Wii Sports Win Big At AIAS
Gears Of War for Xbox 360 won eight statues while Wii Sports won a decent three at the recent Annual Interactive Achievement Awards. Gears of War emerged as the evening's big winner last night at the 10th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards hosted by The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), taking eight Interactive Achievement Award statues, including Game of the Year honors. Nintendo's Wii Sports pulled in the second most awards with three wins at the star-studded event hosted by comedian Jay Mohr at "The Joint" in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
2) John Mayer wins 2 Grammy's for Continuum
Commentator Ryan Seacrest on the Grammy red carpet asked about Jessica Simpson, to whom Mayer has recently been dating. Mayer answered in Japanese and then suggested Seacrest get someone to "decode" what he said and "subtitle it." The translation came back that Mayer had said Simpson is "very beautiful" and that "you are the last to know." At the Grammy awards yesterday John had won 2 Grammy’s for his newest album Continuum.
3) Heat stop Spurs
The Heat held San Antonio without a field goal for more than 7 minutes down the stretch on the way to beating the Spurs 100-85 on Sunday. Miami outscored San Antonio 31-20 in the fourth. Wade virtually silent offensively for the first three quarters and had 18 of his 26 points in the final period.
